Year 2 students have been exploring the exciting world of forces in Science. This term, they have been investigating friction and discovering how different surfaces can affect the way objects move.
Students tested how objects travelled across smooth and rough surfaces and carefully observed whether they moved faster or slower. Through hands on experiments, they compared materials and recorded their results.
Our young scientists have been working hard to write clear justifications explaining why they think a particular surface changes the way an object moves. They are learning to use scientific language such as friction, surface, force, smooth and rough to support their thinking.
It has been wonderful to see students making predictions, testing their ideas and explaining their reasoning like true scientists.
