Senior Sports Report

Indi Prince recently represented the Brumbies at the U16 Provincial Rugby Championships in Sydney, putting together an outstanding tournament.
Indi was impressive throughout the weekend, particularly in defence, and crossed the try line twice across the competition. The Brumbies recorded a strong victory over the NSW Barbarians, alongside competitive losses to NSW White and NSW Blue.
Unfortunately, a number of injuries left the Victorian side unable to field a full team for their final match against the Brumbies. In a fantastic display of sportsmanship, six Brumbies players, including Indi, volunteered to play alongside the Victorian girls in a friendly match against their own teammates.
In a great contest, Indi and her fellow Brumbies helped Victoria secure the win, with several tries scored against their own side!

Plenty of action in the school holidays, Ziggy Clift and Noah Hill played for the Victoria 15&U Boys team. The boys played against some strong competition, top teams from each State including New Zealand.
A solid five days of water polo, the boys showed incredible determination in a physically demanding competition. Noah, one of the youngest players selected on the team, held his form in the pool against strong opposition. While Ziggy’s performance in the pool lead him to being selected in the National U16 Development Squad. What an incredible achievement well done, Ziggy!

Steamers Shield – Phase 1
Phase 1 of the Steamers Shield was a huge success, with our Trinity teams putting together some fantastic performances across the day. Preparations began back in Term 3, led by our star coaches Veronica Kimball and Jean Knox.
The Steamers Shield is a modified rugby union competition designed to cater to teams of varying abilities, providing a fantastic introduction to the sport in a competitive and enjoyable environment.
Year 7–10 Girls
Led by coach Veronica Kimball and our very own Rugby 7s star Indi Prince, the girls enjoyed an outstanding day, progressing convincingly through to the Grand Final. Their performances certainly caught the attention of several rugby union talent scouts, who approached our coaches throughout the day to enquire about some of our players. None attracted more attention than Lucy Hocking, who put together an incredible performance.
Year 7–8 Boys
Our Year 7–8 boys, led by some of our talented student leaders, also enjoyed a fantastic day, dropping just one game on their way to the Grand Final. Julius Roth and Billy Main were particularly dominant, producing several impressive line breaks and causing plenty of headaches for opposition defence.
Senior Boys
Our senior boys faced a tough day of competition, recording one win across their matches. The physicality stepped up significantly in the senior division, but our boys rose to the challenge and competed strongly throughout. Two narrow losses proved costly, with the team perhaps a little unlucky not to secure a place in the Grand Final.
Grand Finals – 29 October
Overall, it was a fantastic day of healthy competition, sporting excellence and school camaraderie. The excitement now turns to Thursday, 29 October, when our Year 7–8 Boys and Year 7–10 Girls will take to the field under lights at Greenfield Park, Albury, to compete in their respective Grand Finals.
We wish both teams the very best of luck as they look to bring home the Steamers Shield!
