Our proposed new uniform – an important update
Throughout Term 3, our community has had the opportunity to view and provide feedback on the proposed new Trinity uniform wardrobe.
Samples were displayed at the College for two months, and we held five parent information sessions where families could view the garments, ask questions and hear more about the thinking behind the design recommendations made by Noone.
Our students have also had their say, including ‘runway’ presentations held at both Junior and Senior School Assemblies. The response from students was extremely positive, with plenty of excitement about the proposed new look.
Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly around the move to a play-based uniform for Kindergarten to Year 2, the refreshed Year 3–12 academic wardrobe, fewer transitions throughout a student’s journey through the College, greater flexibility through mix-and-match options, and the trans-seasonal approach to the wearing of the uniform.
Families have also welcomed the lengthy transition period, which will allow students to move to the new wardrobe progressively rather than requiring a complete changeover at once. Students can wear a mix of the old and new items during the transition period.
The consultation process has also resulted in a number of refinements to the proposed wardrobe, including the addition of a longer navy skirt and longer navy academic sock, the academic skort being available into the Senior School, adequate pockets in dresses and skirts, and further options to support fit, comfort and inclusivity.
Our current uniform has been part of Trinity since the College was established in 2002. As we look towards celebrating our 25th Anniversary in 2027, we believe it is an appropriate time to introduce a refreshed uniform wardrobe that reflects the College we are today, and how we want our students to present themselves both at Trinity and in the broader community.
We are now working with Noone to finalise the remaining samples and expect the new wardrobe to move into manufacture during 2027. The first students will begin wearing the new uniform from the commencement of 2028; however, we look forward to seeing some of the new items being worn as they become available during the course of next year.
Thank you to our families, students and staff for the positive and constructive way you have contributed to this important process. We look forward to sharing more details as the new wardrobe is finalised.
