Oh, What a Night!

Last Friday night there was a great celebration of the SPC Community at the annual P & F Blue, Black and Gold (BBG) Ball. On a night when we come together, parents/carers from all year groups enjoy each other’s company, share a meal, and hit the dance floor. It is nights like these that continue to remind me that we are not a school where boys just come to learn. We are a vibrant community where relationships are formed by parents in their early years and are built upon over their journey until their son’s graduate.

There was lots of colour on the night and everyone looked magnificent. A special thank you to our Parents’ and Friends’ President Jaslyn Hewitt-Shehadie and her dedicated team, whose ongoing commitment to this community is the best I have ever seen in any school community. Their generosity of time, energy and passion is instrumental in building and sustaining the strong community spirit we value so highly. Events such as the Blue, Black and Gold Dinner are a testament to their tireless work behind the scenes, creating opportunities for families to connect and contribute to College life. I also note that they were back on the barbeques bright and early the next day for sport. The money that they raise goes directly to support your sons’ opportunities here at the College.

There are so many opportunities here to build community. The BBG is one and I encourage all parents/carers to make an effort to come next year as we continue to build community.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as I can at the next College event which is our College Musical ‘School of Rock’ which is on at the Bryan Brown Theatre next week. Performances are on Thursday 28 May, Friday 29 May and Saturday 30 May. The students and staff have put so much work into this production and would love your support. Remember it is another chance to build community. Tickets can be purchased here.
