Year 7 Welcome Mass & Leadership Commissioning 

Our Year 7 community gathered recently for a truly memorable Welcome Mass, marking a significant milestone in our students' transition to secondary school. With approximately 200 guests in attendance, the evening was a wonderful testament to the vibrant spirit and engagement of our newest cohort and their families. 

Leading the Way 

The spiritual heart of the evening was the celebration of Mass, led by Fr. Stanly. We are deeply grateful for his continued guidance and the warmth he brings to our community. We also acknowledge Fr. Dennis, who sent his apologies but was with us in spirit. 

A highlight of the ceremony was the formal commissioning of our Class Captains. These emerging leaders were presented with their badges and stood before the gathered community to take their Student Leadership Pledge, committing themselves to serving their peers and upholding our school values. 

Hospitality and Homerooms 

Following the service, the energy shifted to the Junior School Building. Students took the lead, proudly guiding their families to their homerooms. It was a fantastic opportunity for parents to: 

• Meet our dedicated Homeroom Teachers. 
• See the spaces where their children begin each school day. 
• Connect with other families within the Year 7 community. 

The evening was topped off with a delicious spread of supper and refreshments. A huge "well done" goes to our Senior VCE Vocational Major (VM) students, who showcased their catering and hospitality skills to perfection.

An event of this scale succeeds only through the hard work of a dedicated team. Our sincere thanks go to: 

•  The Year 7 Team: Led by Jess Stein, alongside our fantastic Homeroom Teachers: Jackie Van Dillen, Travis Newton, Julia Leslie, and Hannah Collocott. 
• The VM Department: Teachers Jo Knox, Jasmine Jones, and Mairead Johnson for coordinating the catering. 
• The Student Mission Team: For their invaluable work with the students and their presence on the night. 
• AV Support: Beth Winterhalter and Jayde Trappett for ensuring the evening ran smoothly behind the scenes.
