2026 Casey Youth Climate Summit

On Thursday 6 August the Casey Youth Climate Summit was held. The first activity of the day was a panel session with three keynote speakers, where students were provided with the opportunity to ask questions regarding climate change, climate action and possible career paths in this sector. 

We then had morning tea, with numerous agents of change activities available for students to participate in. A few popular ones included bio yarn, badge making, an advocacy video and display of different robots. 

Following on from this, we had out first workshop session where students were allocated to either climate communications, the adaptation game, environmental volunteering and living culture. These workshops provided us with insight into different aspects of sustainability and climate action we hadn't even thought about before! 

After this we had opportunities for speed chats with industry experts, where we were provided with the opportunity to learn about the different career paths relating to climate change and action ranging from wildlife rescue, materials engineering, transport planning and parks Victoria. 

After lunch we returned to our respective groups for our second workshops session. 

We finally ended the day with a last keynote speaker, Beau Miles, where we gained insight into the different experiences of the traveller and how valuable using recyclable products can be!
