Association for French Teachers in Victoria Soirée Trivia
On Friday 7 August, four Year 10 students travelled to Sacré Cœur in Glen Iris to participate in the annual Association for French Teachers in Victoria Soirée Trivia. The event brought together twelve tables, composed of two schools on each, one representing Year 9 and the other representing Year 10, who competed in a fast-paced evening of French trivia! The questions covered a wide range of topics, from French gastronomy and history to French geography.
Our team consisted of Diva, Ayaana, Harshini and myself. When we arrived, we were paired with four Year 9 students from Melbourne Grammar School, giving us the opportunity to work with students we had never met before. Together, we put our French knowledge to the test and had a fantastic time working together to tackle the questions, as well as decorating our table with French icons, including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and Ladybug and Cat Noir from Miraculous Ladybug, in hopes of some extra points!
Overall, the evening was a great opportunity to not only challenge ourselves and extend our knowledge of the French language and culture, but also to meet other French students from schools across Victoria. We came away from the event with new friendships, plenty of new knowledge, and many memorable moments! Merci beaucoup à Madame Saward et Madame Wakeman d'avoir organisé notre équipe de Nossal!

French Model UN
On Thursday 23 July, eight of our Year 12 French students participated in the French Model UN. They prepared and delivered position statements on the use of AI in society, in two teams - representing Japan and the USA.
Well done to these students on being involved in this immersive linguistic and cultural experience! You were excellent diplomats and representatives of your countries! Bravo!
