Last chance to buy tickets - Years 9-12 Community Formal

We are very excited for the 9-12 Community Formal next Wednesday, 11th September.

 

We have had a great response to our ticket sales and would like to extend one last invitation to purchase a ticket for your child to attend the Formal.  Tickets can only be purchased via trybooking and will close today, Friday 6th September at 3.30 pm.

 

We are looking forward to what will be a memorable event for our students.  

 

Help to fill our shopping trolleys for Vinnies

Donations for our Vinnies Winter Appeal will be accepted until next Monday, 9th September. 

 

You still have time to bring in non-perishable food items and winter woollies which are greatly needed by locals doing it tough. Please give generously, if you can.

PJ Day - Raising funds for Vinnies Kyabram

Tuesday 10th September

Our 2024 Student Leaders have organised a Pyjama Day next Tuesday to raise much-needed funds for Vinnies Kyabram.

 

Students are invited to come to school in pyjamas next Tuesday, 10th September - Please bring a gold coin donation.

 

Clothing: Students should wear clean PJs and appropriate enclosed footwear (no slippers)  on the day.  To adhere to the College SunSmart Policy, shorts should be no shorter than mid-thigh, shoulders must be covered and school hats will be worn when students are outside.  

Whole College Assembly - next Tuesday

Families and friends of the College are invited to attend our Whole College Assembly at 9.00am next Tuesday, 10th September, in the Brigidine Centre.

 

Legacy items for sale

Teddy bears, keyrings, badges and pens are for sale at the College Office until next Wednesday, 11th September to raise money in support of Legacy.

 

Prices range from $5 to $20. 

Cash is required for all purchases.

Sandhurst Arts on Show

Our Year 5 students have been busy rehearsing for the Sandhurst Arts on Show. Families of Year 5 students are invited to attend the performance in Shepparton on Thursday 19th September.  Tickets are free, but limited to four per family and can be booked using the QR code or link in the flyer below. 

Hats

A reminder that in line with our Sunsmart policy, all students are now required to wear their school hats when outside at recess, lunch and during outdoor PE sessions.

 

School hats can be purchased from the College Office for $15.00. 

Arts and Design Technology Showcase

As we wrap up Term 3 and look forward to Term 4, students and staff from the Arts and Design Technology Learning Area have been busy preparing for our annual Arts and Design Technology Showcase event to be held in Week 5 of Term 4.

 

The event will be open to the public on Thursday 31st October from 6.00-8.00pm and will be held in the Brigidine Centre.

 

This exhibition will again showcase student work from Foundation to Year 12 and will include pieces that have been designed, manufactured and created in Visual Arts, Visual Communication Design, Media, Technology Wood and Metal, Food Technology and Performing Arts.

 

This year, our Arts and Design Technology showcase will be opened by local artist, Marion Langford. Marion has over two decades of experience as a talented artist working with oils and acrylics and more recently, ceramic and sculpture.

 

We look forward to welcoming Marion to our College and hearing more about her career and art work when she joins us on the evening.

 

So, how do I enter the 2024 Arts and Design Technology Showcase?

 

There are two ways to enter your work in the Showcase.

1. Your teacher will select work created in class.

2. You can enter work completed outside of the classroom in one or more of the following categories:

  • Collaborative entry (get a group of friends together and create something spectacular)
  • Individual creations of any media (paper, mixed media, wood, glass, metal, photography, Lego etc.)

Entries must be submitted to your teacher by Friday 18th October.

The Arts and Design Technology Learning Area Team

Parish Working Bee - 7th September

The Parish holds monthly working bees to do some general cleaning in the Church such as dusting, cleaning glass doors, cobwebs, sweeping steps, etc. If you are able to help we would love to see you. 

 

The next working bee will be held tomorrow, Saturday 7th September at 9.30am.

End of Term Community Assemblies

Families are invited to join our end of term Community Assemblies on Friday 20th September in the Brigidine Centre.

  • Years 5-8 Assembly at 9.10am 
  • F-4 Assembly at 10.00am 

Finish time on last day of term

The last day of Term 3 is Friday 20th September.  School will finish at 2.20pm.

 

Term 4 commences for all students on Monday 7th October.

RCIA Inquiry Nights

The Resilience Project in Rochester

Rochester Community House are delighted to share with us that Martin Heppell will be presenting live in Rochester on Thursday 12th September 2024 from 6.30pm-8.00pm at the Campaspe Valley Community Centre (CVCC). This is a fantastic opportunity to see Martin present and further explore how to build positive mental health in young people.  

 

The event is being run through Rochester Community House who have been promoting the event across the area.

The Resilience Project - '3 Happy Tricks’ with Martin Heppell Kids Show Tour 

Through music, storytelling and plenty of laughs, these shows provide primary school aged children and their parents practical strategies on how to be happier and more resilient.

You can catch the tour, featuring our most engaging and entertaining presenter, Martin Heppell, around Victoria in the Term 3 school holidays (September-October) in Bendigo, South Morang, Frankston, Ringwood, Melbourne and Geelong!
