Student Wellbeing

As 2025 winds down, many of us are holding a mix of emotions. Some feel accomplished, satisfied, maybe even proud of the growth this year brought. Others are carrying tiredness, stress, or a sense of uncertainty about what comes next. Wherever you find yourself on this spectrum, your feelings are valid, and you are not alone. This final wellbeing newsletter for the year invites you to pause for a moment and check in with yourself.

A Gentle Reflection Exercise

Take 3 quiet minutes and consider:

  1. What energised you this year?

  • A win, a moment, a habit, a relationship (big or small).

  1. What drained you?

  • A pattern, a responsibility, or a boundary you wish you had honoured earlier.

  1. What surprised you about yourself?

  • Something you handled better than expected… or differently than you imagined.

Write down whatever comes up. Reflection is clarity in motion.

A Two-Minute Reset Ritual

If you are feeling overwhelmed, try this simple grounding reset:

  • Close your eyes and take one deep breath in through the nose, out through the mouth.

  • Name one thing you’re grateful for today.

  • 5-4-3-2-1 technique (name 5 things you can see, 4 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste).

  • Place one hand on your chest or stomach and notice the rise and fall of your breath.

Closing the Year with Intention

As you move through these final weeks, try focusing on just one intention:

  • Be kinder to myself.

  • Finish only what truly matters.

  • Rest without guilt.

  • Celebrate the progress I forget to notice.

  • Give myself permission to shift, change, or start fresh.

Final Thought

Whether 2025 exceeded your expectations or stretched you thin, you made it through. You grew in ways you may not even see yet, and you deserve to enter the next year with clarity, compassion, and a bit of breathing room. Congratulations on finishing the year, and we wish you a safe and restful school holiday period.
