From the Principal

Dear Yarrabing Families, Students and Staff,

As we come to the close of another school year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a year of growth, achievement and strong community spirit across our school.

This year has been defined by the commitment and effort of our students. In classrooms, on sporting fields, in performances and through leadership opportunities, our students have demonstrated resilience, curiosity and a genuine desire to do their best. We have seen academic progress, increased confidence, and a willingness to take on challenges - qualities that will serve them well beyond the school gates.

Our staff deserve special recognition for their professionalism and dedication. Their daily work - often unseen - has been central to creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment. Through thoughtful planning, collaboration and care for student wellbeing, they continue to make a powerful difference in the lives of young people.

I would also like to thank our families for your ongoing partnership and support. Whether through attendance at school events, communication with staff, or encouragement at home, your involvement strengthens our community and reinforces the shared goal we all have: helping every student succeed.

Throughout the year, we have celebrated many milestones and achievements, while also learning from challenges and using them as opportunities for improvement. As a school, we remain committed to continuous growth - refining our practice, strengthening relationships and building on the strong foundations already in place.

Looking Ahead

The future of Yarrabing Secondary College is bright. I hope 2025 will be remembered as the year our early successes were strengthened through meticulous focus and purpose - a year that further laid the groundwork for Yarrabing to become one of the great schools within the Department of Education.

Our mission remains clear: to cultivate a safe, supportive, and motivated learning environment that empowers students to grow academically, socially, culturally, and emotionally. With the continued application of innovative, 21st-century educational practices, our students are well placed to reach their full potential.

As we look ahead to 2026 and the next phase of our School Building Master Plan with the construction of our Stage 2 buildings, I do so with optimism and gratitude for all members of the Yarrabing community whose dedication continues to drive our success. There is much to look forward to, and I am confident that together we will continue to build a school community where every student feels supported, challenged and proud of their achievements.

I wish all students, staff and families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. I hope the break is a safe, restful and enjoyable for all. Thank you for your contributions to a successful year, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for the year ahead.
