Year 12 Student, Archie Stokie, chosen for Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Squad

Year 12 student, Archie Stokie, has been selected as part of the 2025 Under 18’s CAS Schoolboys Squad for the Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League National Championships, set to take place during the Term 2 holidays between Sunday 13th to Friday 18th July.

Archie has earned a starting position as halfback, a critical role that reflects his exceptional vision, leadership, and game sense on the field. In October 2024, Archie sustained a severe concussion, which he battled to overcome. His symptoms were unlike anything he had to manage before, but Archie’s dedication to his rehabilitation makes this achievement even more special and remarkable, considering he only returned to contact sport in May this year. His selection to the squad is a testament to his unwavering dedication, relentless work ethic, and outstanding performance across the years, particularly while he juggles the demands of completing his VCE. Archie’s commitment to balancing academic responsibilities with the demands of elite sport serves as an inspiration to his peers, staff and the broader community. We look forward to cheering him on as he takes to the field.

From everyone at Kambrya College – congratulations, Archie! We are incredibly proud of you and can’t wait to see what you achieve next.

Year 7 Student, Divjot Kaur's Voluntary Service with Sikh Volunteers Australia (SVA).

Year 7 student, Divjot Kaur, recently travelled to NSW to volunteer in flood-affected communities to help those that were affected by the terrible floods. Below is an appreciation piece that we received from the CEO of Sikh Volunteers Australia INC:

I am writing to share a heartfelt appreciation and recognition for one of your Year 7 students, Divjot Kaur, who recently demonstrated remarkable compassion and maturity through her voluntary service with Sikh Volunteers Australia (SVA).

On 27 May 2025, Divjot travelled to flood-affected communities in New South Wales with the SVA disaster relief team. Over two days, she actively participated in the preparation and distribution of free meals to those severely affected by the floods. Working alongside experienced volunteers, she made meaningful contributions to our relief efforts in Taree, Wingham, Oxley Island, and Cundletown.

Despite being deeply moved by the emotional stories and devastation witnessed during the service, Divjot showed great strength and resilience. With the support and guidance of our senior volunteers, she managed her emotions with grace and remained committed to helping others throughout the experience.

Her conduct during this time reflects not only her personal values but also the positive influence of her school community. It was truly inspiring to witness such a young student engaging in acts of sewa (selfless service) with empathy, courage, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Please join us in acknowledging Divjot's contribution and the values she upholds. She is an excellent ambassador for Kambrya College and a shining example of youth leadership in action.
