LOTE - German/Japanese

Visit from Altkönigschule High School in Germany
From the 19th June to 1st July 2025, we once again had the pleasure of welcoming our friends, 9 students and 2 teachers, from Altkönigschule High School, in Kronberg, Germany.
The students were hosted enthusiastically by our wonderful Host Families where the 9 girls experienced both the sightseeing treasures of Melbourne and surrounds, and the everyday life of a student at Kambrya College. On their final day with us, Assistant Principal, Phillip Edwards, took the group on a journey down to Phillip Island making the most of the beautiful weather, a koala reserve and a chocolate factory.
For the students visiting, it is a wonderful experience in language and cultural immersion. However, for our students also, it is a precious opportunity to practice their skills in conversational German and to understand the beauty of communicating in real-life situations with native speakers.
We would like to thank the Altkönigschule students and staff for their generosity in providing us with this experience. Also, a very heartfelt thank you to the host families for offering their homes and time to our dear friends at our Sister School. This partnership is so important in fostering the vitality of the Languages Domain. We are looking forward to hosting again in 2027. In the meantime, we will be planning for a student exchange trip to Germany in 2026, so please keep an eye out for further details on that exciting journey, later in the year.
Thank you to everyone who supported this program and was involved in all the fun and learning. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful partnership in language and cultural exchange, and I look forward to the next installment of these continuing adventures.
