Temporary Closure of Pedestrian Gates – Southern Boundary

The school takes the safety of our students and the wider community seriously and will always endeavour to provide a safe environment for all.  However, we are aware that pathways to the southern and south western areas of the school behind the external basketball courts have suffered ongoing erosion and damage exacerbated by the recent weather events of 2025.

We advise that the pathways that lead to the pedestrian gate on the south western end, behind the Walton Way complex and the pathway that leads up to the gate on the south side of the external basketball courts, are deemed to be a safety concern and the gates will be closed from the start of Term 3, 2025 to all pedestrians until maintenance works can be planned and implemented.

Students can enter the school grounds using the Council walkway that runs behind the school oval and enter at the school gate on the south eastern (Coles) end of the oval.  Any pedestrians using the access from across the creek can utilise the Council walkway – a much safer option for our students.

We are investigating feasible options for repairs to these pathways and will advise further when details are available.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused but am sure you understand that safety for all is of paramount importance.
