Spring is slowly making a welcomed entrance, and this time also signals the closing in on the final school-based tasks for our year 12 students and the beginning of rigorous exam study period to ensure students are preparing for their best possible results. For many, there are still School Assessed course work to undertake for semester two and ensure that all outcomes are satisfied. The Year 11 students have also been busy completing semester two tasks. Hopefully as parents and care givers, you were able to attend the recent parent teacher conference to support your children in their final semester of year 11. Please reach out to staff if you couldn’t attend.  All students in year 11 should by now have completed their intentions for year 12 on Subject Selections online (SOS) as the college begins to plan for next year’s classes. 

Edrolo. This is a useful resource the school has provided for our year 12 students free of charge, which allows for fantastic and engaging revision opportunities, including the ability to go back and watch videos of concepts students may need to revisit, many unit quizzes and practice exam questions. Students completing certain unit three and four subject have been issued a code to access this platform. Please encourage your child to make the most of this opportunity as part of their revision routine moving towards the exams.

Our LSC careers counsellor Jade Charalambous has been having individual tertiary counselling sessions with students in year 12, please do not hesitate to give her a call at the college if you or your child has questions regarding requirements for entry applications for termitary courses, and completing VTAC applications. Students can find Ms. Charalambous located in the wellbeing precinct on the ground floor of the Library Arts building behind reception. Please be sure to keep updated on any career news posted on compass. In these posts you will find useful information about university open days and resources to assist students in their planning for work or study after leaving us here at Lalor.

Indicative Exams 

These are compulsory trial exams for our VCE students and are scheduled for the September holidays. They provide important opportunities for practice and highlight the areas for further consolidation for study prior to the final exams.  Teachers will also use these to calculate how well they believe students will go in their final exams. These are an important part of the course work, and act as a useful indicator of where future revision needs to occur. These will run at the college from Tuesday 22 nd September through to Monday 28th September.  All exams will be held in the school Hall. Please refer to the schedule below for individual times and dates of these exams.

All students completing unit 4 need to attend.

These exams will be held in the Hall. Students must be seated at the beginning of reading time.
