Grade 1

Swimming
Our students attended 'Swimz' for their lessons this year and took to the water with lots of enthusiasm. Swimming is a life skill and it's never to early (or late) to start learning!

Science
This term is Science we have been learning about Living Things. This has included both plants and animals, habitats, the environment around us, growing seeds (chick pea, alfalfa and avocado). We have been down to the creek to collect samples and into the Bush Block to discover lots of new learnings. We then compared all this to our previous knowledge. We will conclude and celebrate our unit of study with a major excursion to the Kyabram Fauna Park.

Book Week 2026
Congratulations to the following students who were chosen by SRC as best dressed. SRC reported it was extremely difficult to choose this year with so many homemade costumes and everyone in Grade 1 dressed up!
Maths
Grade 1 have been investigating Volume/Capacity. Engaging, hands on tasks required students to estimate first and then conduct the experiment. So many important skills on display in these photos: group work, collaboration, estimation, accurate measuring and sharing.
