Term Three Reflections
Please enjoy a glimpse into what the Preps have been up to in Term 3.
Prep Reflections
We asked the Preps what their favourite experiences have been this term, what they have loved doing, what has been challenging, and how they are proud of themselves.
Ella M - I loved learning about sharing in Maths.
Evan - I liked learning about composting in STEM, and about sharing in Maths.
Jaxton - I had fun going to swimming lessons.
Nixon - I really liked getting to hold the guinea pigs.
William - I liked watching the tadpoles in the Frog Bog in the Green Nest.
Luna - I loved writing because I got to write my own sentences.
Everly - I liked Art and Music because I love to sing and I like making different things in Art.
Riley B - I liked swimming because I was brave.
Koven - I liked being Ms S's assistant because I got to feed the fish and hand out the worksheets.
Ella S- I have liked playing on the playground.
Raffey- I've got two things. Art and swimming!
Jackson- Book Week was the best.
Ryker- I liked Book Week and my costume was great, I was Hulk!
Frankie- I liked dressing up as a Minion for Book Week and I liked swimming.
Ananada- I love going to Music.
Paisley- Music is my favourite.
Arya B- Swimming and going on the playground was my favourite.
Alisha- I have loved swimming and PE.
Ava McPherson- I loved dressing up as a Gingerbread Man and Art and Music.
Willow- I have five things- Music, Art, PE, recess and phonics.
Alex- I have enjoyed scribbly Art
Bobby- I like painting scary things in Art.
Theo- Learning to use the iPads has been fun.
Ivy- I have liked painting in Art.
Hayden- Drawing scary pictures in Art has been fun.
Lily- I like drawing all kinds of things in Art, but not scary things.
Kythera- Music and PE are my favourite.
Literacy
This Term, the Preps enjoyed reading many wonderful picture story books that have sparked their imagination and developed their love of reading. Here are a few of the mentor texts we have studied this term:

Maths
The Preps have been learning about numbers zero to twenty, with a specific focus on teen numbers, measurement and 2D shapes. They have enjoyed exploring these concepts through a range of fun, hands-on activities and games, helping to build their mathematical thinking.
Science
Our Little Weather Watchers! ☀️🌧️🌈☁️
In Term 3, the Preps were busy learning all about weather! They observed the sky, looking for clouds, sunshine, rain and wind, and talked about how the weather changed each day. Our students loved becoming little weather watchers and sharing what they noticed!
STEM
The children have enjoyed STEM lessons with Mrs Fullard. A highlight for the students has been spending time with our school guinea pigs.
100 Days Of Prep
On Tuesday 21st July, our Prep students transformed into senior citizens as they celebrated their 100th day of school, complete with grey hair, glasses, walking sticks and fabulous senior citizen styles!
The celebrations began with a parade around the school, followed by a fun-filled dance party with balloons and a delicious cake. Students also created their own 100-year-old portraits, adding a creative and memorable touch to this special day.
To finish the celebrations, each student received a special 100 Days of Prep certificate.
This was a fantastic day as our Preps celebrated 100 incredible days of learning and growing together! ❤️ The staff had quite a lot of fun, too! Especially 'Morris' and 'Doris'!
Swimming
Our Prep students had a fantastic week of swimming at Swimz! Each day, students travelled by bus to the pool and participated in swimming lessons designed to build their confidence, water safety skills and swimming abilities.
Book Week
Our Preps had a wonderful time celebrating Book Week! Students and teachers dressed up as their favourite book characters and took part in our exciting whole-school parade and dance party. We loved seeing everyone’s creative costumes and enthusiasm for their favourite stories.

Prep Reminders
- 👒 Sun Smart - Hats must be worn outside at all times during Term 4. Please apply sunscreen to your child before school each morning.
- 📚 Home Reading - Please continue supporting your child to read at home. Students need to bring their decodable reader to school every day.
- 🍎 Fruit Break – Please continue to pack fresh fruit or vegetables for your child to enjoy during fruit break each day.
- 📖 Library - All three Prep classes will attend the library on Monday in Term 4. Please remember to return library books each week.
- 💧 Drink Bottles - Please ensure your child brings a named drink bottle to school each day. As the weather warms up, having regular access to water helps keep our students happy and hydrated throughout the day.
- 🎒 Label Belongings - Please make sure all belongings are clearly named.
- 🚫 Toys at School - To avoid distractions and lost or broken items, we ask that toys stay at home.
