Season of Creation 

The Season of Creation is an international, ecumenical initiative celebrated by Christian denominations around the world. It begins on September 1, recognized by many as the World Day of Prayer for Creation, and concludes on October 4. 

The official symbol for 2026 is Immersion in Living Water, representing both spiritual reflection and ecological awareness. 

Mercy Award 

Our new Mercy Award is for the quality of ‘Hospitality’.  

Sr Mary Austin was a Sister of Mercy and a very special person to the school community here at St Joseph's. She was someone who was very hospitable, she was friendly and always welcoming others into our church and her home. 

Some ways we can show HOSPITALITY here at St Joseph's are: 

• welcome visitors into our school and learning spaces 
• greet people (good morning, good afternoon) 
• share your knowledge with others 
• hold open doors for people coming into a room 
• start conversations with people 
• share belongings and resources to help others 

Congratulations to the ‘Faithful’ Mercy Award recipients that were presented today during assembly.
