Bullying No Way! National Week of Action
This week St. Joseph's Cobram participated in Bullying No Way! National Week of Action.
This year’s theme for Bullying No Way Week, “Small Acts, Big Impact.” reminds us that actions don’t need to be big to change someone’s world.
Small actions – like including someone, speaking up or showing kindness – can create meaningful change. In our school and community, our goal is to build an environment where everyone belongs, diversity is celebrated and bullying is never accepted.
During this week we had our Year 6 PBIS Leaders challenge our whole student cohort to complete daily random acts of kindness. These small acts when compounded daily result in a big impact. It has been so pleasing to see our students shine in kindness throughout the week.
Each morning our Year 6 leaders reminded students to be kind, focusing on:
Monday – Small Acts Matter: Words and Actions
Tuesday – Kindness Creates Impact
Wednesday – You Have the Power to Make Things Better
Thursday – Pause Before You Communicate
Friday – Together, Our Small Actions Create Big Change
We also had our Wellbeing Warriors run their monthly wellbeing session at recess time on Monday with their activity - Kindness Boomerang - a way to encourage students to notice how spreading kindness makes them feel.
"Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile." - Mother Teresa
