National Child Protection Week

National Child Protection Week will take place from 6–12 September 2026. This year’s theme, Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversation to Action, reminds us that creating safe environments for children begins with listening, noticing, speaking up and taking meaningful action. Safeguarding Sunday will follow National Child Protection Week and will be celebrated in all Australian Catholic dioceses on Sunday 13 September 2026, providing an important opportunity for Catholic communities to renew their shared commitment to the safety, dignity and wellbeing of every child.

At Stella Maris , child protection is central to who we are as a school community. We are committed to providing a safe, respectful and nurturing environment where every child is known, valued, listened to and supported. This commitment is lived through our policies, practices, relationships and daily interactions, and through the vigilance and care of all adults who share responsibility for the children entrusted to us. We continue to work in partnership with families, staff, parish and the wider community to uphold the rights, dignity and wellbeing of every child, ensuring that safeguarding is not only spoken about, but actively lived each day.
