In The Classroom - Year One

This term, the students have worked hard across all areas of learning. During Mathematics, the students have enjoyed learning about repeating patterns, growing patterns and skip counting patterns. We have now moved onto learning about ‘Sharing and Grouping’ collections. Using concrete materials, the students have engaged in describing and creating equal and unequal groups. They then made groups of 2, 5 and 10, and used skip counting to work out the total. 

During Writing and Inquiry lessons, the students have been working in groups of three to write and illustrate a narrative story based on the story of ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’. They can’t wait to show families their completed project at the Exhibition of Learning on the last Wednesday of Term 3.
