Year Four and so much More

This week, we will be revisiting multiplication, with a focus on using the vertical algorithm to multiply larger numbers by a one-digit number.

To achieve success and build confidence with the vertical algorithm, it is essential that students have a strong knowledge of their times tables. When multiplication facts are recalled automatically, students can focus on the steps and process of the algorithm rather than spending their time working out each multiplication fact.
