Ms Kayla

Welcome to Term 3!

Welcome back to our students and families, we hope you had a wonderful holidays and are ready for this learning filled term.

Literacy- Grade 2's

Our Grade 2 students have officially kicked off their new Narrative writing unit! To inspire our young authors, we’ve been diving into Julia Donaldson’s classic, The Snail and the Whale.

The children have been focusing on story structure, text features, and crafting clear simple sentences. Inspiration is flowing, and the students have loved imagining and writing their very own adventurous tales about where the tiny snail travels next on the whale's tail!

Maths- Grade 1s

Our Grade 1 mathematicians have kicked off the term by exploring length through hands-on measurement! Students have been learning how to use informal units - like paperclips, blocks, and counters - to measure everyday objects around the classroom. It’s been a fun, interactive way to explore mathematical concepts, and the children have loved experimenting with all the different tools and materials!

Inquiry- Exploring Imagination and Creativity

Our new topic this term is all about Robots! We’re starting off by celebrating imagination and innovation. Using a huge variety of craft materials, students put their design skills to the test by creating their own custom hats. Every single design was unique, and the students loved showing off their creative flair!

Grade 1 PMP Fridays

Grade 1 had a blast on Friday during their first PMP (Perceptual Motor Program) session! Students moved through different skill station, practicing line balancing, hoop hopping, and partner ball-rolling.

PMP is a structured program that uses movement to strengthen coordination, balance, and spatial awareness, helping kids build confidence both on the playground and in the classroom. Everyone brought fantastic energy to our first session!

Adventures of Wally and Ringo

Huge thanks to Oscar and Nella for giving Ringo and Wally a wonderful first weekend away! The class loved listening to all of their fun stories on Monday.

Every Friday, two new students will take a class teddy home for the weekend. Families are invited to help their child fill in the adventure book with writing and drawings. We look forward to seeing who Ringo and Wally visit next Friday!
