Bullying No Way Week

Bullying No Way Week is about the important roles school, family and community play in helping young people feel accepted, respected and a sense of belonging.

From 11th to 15th August 2025, you can help create positive action with students, school staff and your community for Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative.

Our theme for 2025 is Be Bold. Be Kind. Speak Up.

Everyone has a role in preventing bullying. This year, we’re encouraging students and school staff to speak up and foster safe spaces where everyone feels supported, respected, and all voices are heard and valued.

During the week, classes will be engaging with resources to further develop these skills. The incursion on Monday will support this learning.

On Monday at 1pm, there is a Live Stream that classes will be engaging with from Kids Helpline. This session is also about Anti-Bullying.

All of these skills are so important for all students to learn and know.

Wellbeing Incursion

On the 11th of August, commencing at 10am, we will be having a Wellbeing Incursion from Brainstorm Productions!

When children experience change, bullying, loss and other stressful life events, it can have a huge impact on their behaviour and wellbeing. They may worry about themselves, their families and the world.

Being Brave is a live show that gives students positive strategies to cope with emotions and adapt to change at school, at home and online. Fly is a young boy whose parents have separated. He misses his dad desperately and tries to be brave by keeping his emotions ‘bottled up’. He meets Isha, who has been forced to come to a new country. Tim is being bullied and Billie is learning to face her fears. Mrs Russo wants to connect safely with her family online and Celia is coming to terms with loss in her family.

By connecting with the people in his community, Fly discovers the true meaning of being brave: sharing stories, showing feelings, keeping good memories and living life.

Researched and developed in consultation with teachers and psychologists, this live theatre in education program uses song, dance and storytelling to provide students with positive coping strategies.

Designed to support school’s existing student wellbeing program and facilitate further learning in the classroom, Being Brave empowers children to seek help and face life’s challenges with confidence and compassion.

Brainstorm Productions is listed as an evidence-based program on the Victorian Schools Mental Health Menu. Victorian Government schools can use their funding to purchase our program at no cost to students. Brainstorm is also endorsed by the eSafety Commissioner as a Trusted eSafety Provider.

Digital Citizenship Curriculum

During Term 3, our Fortnightly Wellbeing Lessons this Term will be focusing on Cyber Safety! We will be using a program called Common Sense Education- Digital Citizenship Curriculum.

Digital citizenship is the responsible use of technology to learn, create, and participate. Common Sense’s Digital Citizenship Curriculum addresses critical issues facing children in a fast-changing world of media and technology. The innovative lessons teach students to think critically and develop the habits of mind to navigate digital dilemmas in their everyday lives.

Through this program, we will receive lots of resources, including Family and Parent Tips that we will share with you! As we know, learning is amazing within the classroom, but learning that goes beyond the classroom and crosses into the home environment is very beneficial to the development of a child. So, following up with these skills within the home environment will be fantastic!
