High School Musical: On Stage

This term, Cranbourne East Secondary College brought the beloved High School Musical: On Stage to life!

After months of dedication, our talented cast of 40 students, who have been rehearsing since Term 1, and 12 hardworking crew members, who began crafting props and perfecting their roles in Term 3, took to the stage to showcase their incredible efforts.

We kicked off with two special preview performances for Cranbourne East and Wilandra Primary Schools before dazzling over 450 attendees across three spectacular shows. Our senior musical theatre students truly shone as mentors, offering guidance and support to our junior cast members and newcomers. A special shout-out goes to Therissa Hargrave, a Year 12 student, who took on the remarkable task of choreographing the entire show. Her years of experience in dance and performance made the choreography both dynamic and captivating.

The vibrant set, masterfully designed and painted by our Hands on Learning team, added an extra layer of magic to the production. We also had a fun surprise for the audience, with teachers Ms. Hassan, Ms. Wilkinson, and Ms. Hardy taking turns to bring Ms. Tenny to life each night, to the crowd's delight!

If you loved this year's show or are interested in being part of the action next time, keep an eye out for sign-ups for next year’s musical!

Schools on Stage

The High School Musical cast competed in ‘Schools on Stage’ at Bunjil Place on Thursday 12th September. Schools on Stage is a competition where local schools compete against each other to win prizes. This year, Cranbourne East Secondary College won the “Best Song Award” in the premier division for “We’re All in This Together.” The judges said the song was “engaging”, “full of enthusiasm” and “fun.”

More importantly, the students had an excellent experience performing in a professional theatre and seeing the ins and outs of backstage. I am also very proud to say that CESC were also great team players, showing their encouragement and support for other schools backstage. Well done to all involved!

Victorian State School Spectacular

On Saturday, 14th September, 12 of our talented dancers from Cranbourne East Secondary College proudly represented the school as part of the Victorian State School Spectacular! After months of hard work, dedication, and rehearsals, these dancers took the stage as part of the dance ensemble at John Cain Arena, performing to an awe-inspiring audience of 8,000 people.

Their commitment to perfecting the choreography truly paid off, as they delivered stunning performances in not one but two shows that day. The atmosphere was electric, and our students brought incredible energy and enthusiasm to every moment on stage, showcasing their passion and talent on one of the state's biggest stages.

We couldn’t be prouder of these dancers for their hard work, teamwork, and the way they represented our school with such poise and professionalism. This experience not only highlighted their skills but also provided them with unforgettable memories. Congratulations to all involved! Keep an eye out for these rising stars as they continue to shine!
