Hello everyone,

A big thank you to the parents/carers who took the opportunity to attend the Family Connect sponsored Zoom presentation on Thursday night by Dr Kristy Goodwin – Raising Screenagers; which offered research-based yet realistic advice to help us as parents feel confident about how we best support our children’s physical health, mental wellbeing and learning online. 

An invaluable session which was well attended both at the College and via Zoom.

Unfortunately due travel restrictions at this time the session was only able to be delivered to parents/carers via Zoom but as and when the opportunity arises the College in partnership with Family Connect still intends to have Dr Goodwin present to students in a face-to-face environment, hopefully sooner than later!

I have attached the minutes of our last meeting held on Tuesday 17th August.

Our next date claimer will be on the 14th September which will explore the College’s writing program.

This workshop will provide parents/carers tools and ideas on how to support your student at home with writing.  Hopefully attendees will come away knowing process and language used at school and having micro skills to support students at home.

Education is and always will be a two-way street (parents/carers and teachers) and we all have our part to play so please attend if you can. 

Due to the workshop in September our next Family Connect Meeting will not be held until Tuesday 19th October 2021 at 5:15pm in the College Library.
