Container for Change program started several years ago at St Mary’s. Two raised garden beds were built late last year using the funds from the program and it allowed us to start a garden project with several enthusiastic students involved. The program as a whole provides students with the opportunity to recycle plastic bottles at the school, engage in care and maintenance of the worm farm, compost scrap food and learn basic gardening skills including harvesting.  They then get to taste a variety of herbs that they have grown.

This year we have been provided with educational resources from Plastic Oceans Australasia for the Wave of Change program. Our main goal is to educate students and the school community about reducing the use of plastics, and to encourage them to recycle bottles as much as we can. This year the recycle bottle fund will be donated to BASS organisation for children in orphanages in India.
