Past Pupils of Distinction Launch
Past Pupils of Distinction Launch
The Past Pupils’ Network Committee introduced Kilbreda Past Pupils of Distinction at a Launch on Friday 26 August. We wish to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate outstanding contributions of Past Pupils who have made a difference in the lives of others. Some Alumnae groups and organisations have similar awards such as a Hall of Fame equivalent.
Some former students may have been involved with or been a recipient of such awards at a local, state, national or a corporate level. They may have been recognised in their field of endeavour or might be the quiet unsung heroes in a local community.
Kilbreda Past Pupils’ Network Committee would like to formally acknowledge their outstanding contributions, to share their stories to inspire current and future students with those who have lived our values and motto and made a difference across many areas. By acknowledging and sharing the stories of Past Pupils we intend to provide models of excellence.
The announcement of recipients of the award would take place at a Past Pupils’ event/or celebration and recipients would be invited to address current students. This may be a yearly or two yearly event.
Recipients of the award would have their name inscribed on an Honour Board which would join others in the Mary Dalton Hall.
In speaking to Alumnae groups we have learned that at some schools this type of initiative has developed slowly and has gained momentum over time.
That may be the case here at Kilbreda. However, together we can promote, inform and grow the Kilbreda Past Pupils of Distinction Program.
Nomination Forms will be available on the Kilbreda Heritage page of the website, on the Past Pupils’ Facebook page, at Kilbreda and in this issue of the Past Pupils’ iNewsletter. Nominations will go before a selection committee.
Thank you to all who attended the Launch, for your keen interest and support and for the valuable input gained from the evening. The Committee will now revise the categories and consider the ideas offered.
Thank you to the Committee members for their shared wisdom, planning and organisation.
