Dear Senior School Students and Families,
We hope everyone is doing well during this lockdown. The resilience our senior students have shown these last 5 weeks has been amazing. Completing a VCE or VCAL program under these conditions is a tough ask, but our students keep showing why they’re great by attending online classes and completing work.
Our year 12s have had so much of their VCE/VCAL in remote learning and we hope that very soon life turns back to normal and their tertiary studies have a sense of normality for them. Their VTAC applications are due at the end of this month, if they don’t want to spend extra money on the application fee. It’s a big process as they’re starting their next phase of education. We’ve already had some great news from La Trobe University offering students positions next year through the Aspire Program. These students have already been offered a position at La Trobe in 2022 if they meet the ATAR and course requirements.
During this period of remote learning, we have continued to celebrate achievements whether that is attendance acknowledgements or academic achievements. The 2021 Principal’s Awards were celebrated on Monday August 30 and we were very proud of the following students who received an award virtually, but when we return to onsite learning will receive their certificates. We’re hoping to have everyone back onsite soon; the teachers are missing being in the classroom and I know the students are missing being there too. Some important dates for term 4 are:
Tuesday October 5: GAT
Thursday October 21: Last day of year 12 VCE classes & Graduation Evening
Friday October 22: Year 12 Dress Up Breakfast & Parade
Wednesday October 27: VCAA End of Year Written Exams Begin
Like we said at the start, we hope you’re all doing well and we hope to see everyone onsite at the start of term 4.
