INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

September Soirees

The Instrumental Music students had two evening Soirees on Tuesday 12 September.

The first concert was for Voice, Guitar and Piano students. The following students from Years 7 to Year 12 performed beautifully to their family and friends;

Danielle Ellis, Celeste Wells, Emma Howson, Caleb McKeon, Ashlee Gottsche, Emma Smith, Bree Courtney, Willow McConchie, Annalise Carden, Hannah Garry, Stellamay Lambert, Brianna Birthisel-Mulready , Kylie Wilkinson, Tayla Shearer, Emily Reynolds, Tayla Shearer and Caitlin Huddleston.

The second concert was for Woodwind, Brass and Percussion students. The following students performed in solos, duets and small ensembles. They too, performed their songs fantastically.

Bec Clark, Gabby Bassett, Lily Black, Neo Silfavan, Ben Wiltshire, Jacomo Warner, Sian Jones, Charley Nugent, Nick Rowe, Emily Cooper, Patrick Leslie, Hannah Slattery, Brea Shannon, Dylan Dent, Alex Mayne, Darcy Lloyd, Tobi Phillips, Nicole Reuhmer, Jessica Clark, Ebony Leitch, Caitlin Taylor, Jonah Phillips, Emily Artis, Valentina Aloysius, Lilly Urquhart, Liam Huddleston and Jonah Phillips.

Thank you to those students who performed so well. Also, a big thank you to the staff who teach them in their music lessons; Malcolm Abbott, Bronwyn Ventura, Ian Haines, Kent Fisk, Clancye Milne, Selene Messinis, Tori Wood and Stephen McCulloch.

Eight Piece Concert Band

On Monday 18 September, Lilydale High School hosted music students from three other schools to form an eighty piece concert band with our band.

The students came from Greensborough Secondary College, St Helena College and Billanook College. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day and learnt a lot about playing together and listening to each other.

Thank you to Bronwyn Ventura who organised the day and to all of the staff that came along to help run the workshops and took turns conducting the band. It was a most beneficial day for the students.
