ANZAC Day

This is an advanced notice about the involvement of students from St. Joseph’s School in the local ANZAC Day commemorations.

St. Joseph’s School students have been invited by the Glen Innes RSL Sub-branch to take part in the 2023 ANZAC Day commemorations.  Our involvement is as follows:

  1. Dawn Service: The School and Sports Captains, SRC members and any other students along with their parents are invited to participate in the ANZAC Dawn Service at the Cemetery, which generally commences at 5.15am on ANZAC Day, Tuesday, 25th April 2023

  1. ANZAC March:  All students are also invited to participate in the ANZAC Day March which generally starts at 11am on ANZAC Day, Tuesday 25th April.  The students will  meet the teachers and assemble at the Post Office corner at 10.30am.
Following the commemorations at ANZAC Park, students will be signed out and collected by their parents and are invited to share in a 'Sausage Sizzle' hosted by the Glen Innes RSL Sub-Branch.

General Information and Dress Code:  Students are asked to wear their full summer         uniform. School Captains and Sports Captains are to wear their school blazers.           Students who wish to honour the memory of loved ones by wearing their medals in the       ANZAC  Day March may do so, providing that the medals are worn on the right hand           side of the chest.

Please consider if your child will be able to attend, traditionally we always have a great representation from our school.  A COMPASS event notice has been published for you to register your child’s participation.
