Happy Easter

The children in the younger years have been reading lots of books about Easter. All of which can be borrowed.

Bad Bunny by Jonathan Bentley has been extremely popular.

Borrowing over the holidays

Usually, there is no borrowing over the holidays for Kinder and Stage 1. However, those children in Stage 2 and 3 who have been returning their books consistently during the term can borrow over the holidays.

Please don't forget about our wonderful reading platforms over the holidays. These can be accessed at any time. Storybox Library and Sora.

To do this they use their Chrome username and password. press the button. Just a hint is our school is part of ACEN - (Australian Catholic Education Network) Look for this first and then you will find our school under Armidale Diocese. Download the book if you are going somewhere without the internet. Click on the button below and it will take you to the site.

Harmony Day Stage 2 and 3

Last Thursday our Stage 2 and 3 recognized Harmony Day by reading quality literature on this subject. Harmony Day is a day when we celebrate different cultures within Australia as well as paying tribute to our original inhabitants. The children looked at the stories to see how small gestures could make a difference and show kindness and harmony.

Stepping Stones by Margaret Ruurs is the most amazing book about a refugee's family journey. The family have left everything that they know and love behind in Syria to find refuge in Europe. The artwork by Ali Bdr is constructed with stone. These images are powerful and thought-provoking.

Kinder

Kinder have been continuing their exploration of Authors and have been learning what an author does. This week we looked at a famous Aboriginal Author - Sally Morgan and her book Thank you Rain.

Stage 1

For the last fortnight children in Stage 1have been looking at Mem Fox. Many of you would be familiar with her books as she writes a lot of books suitable for this age group and younger. Children have been enjoying reading her books in groups.

What are Stage 3 reading?

The stage 3 children are mostly finding it easier to find books that they like because they know the genre they like. Here are some recommendations.

What happens if I lose a library book?

This sometimes happens. Life can be busy and things can be misplaced. If you have looked everywhere and can't find it please just email me. (email address above) I'll mark it as missing. Sometimes books do turn up.

Have a happy and safe Easter and enjoy some reading time.
