Sports Update

League Stars

Last Friday some of our Kindergarten and Stage 1 students participated in the League Stars Gala Day run by the NRL. These students had a fantastic day, where Kindergarten students played League Tag and the Stage 1 students played tackle football. We are extremely fortunate to have programs like this offered to us in our country town.

Thank you to all the wonderful parents who assisted the teachers on the day. We always value your support. Also, thank you to Miss McShane, Mrs Kent, Mrs Webel, Mr Webel and Mrs Tarrant who looked after the students and had them organised. We’re glad you enjoyed your day - maybe more than the children.

Polding Touch Trials

Aila McBain, Paige Floyd and Fletcher Barratt travelled to Parkes on the 27th and 28th March to try out for the Polding Touch Football Team. They demonstrated some excellent skills and sportsmanship which was noticed by the selectors, however, they were outclassed by the students in the other diocese who had an excellent understanding of the game. Paige scored the only try for the Armidale team, Aila ducked and weaved her way around the field and Fletcher was able to play well enough to be selected for Possibles and Probables. Unfortunately, he was not selected for the Polding team. Congratulations to these students for their outstanding efforts to achieve at this level.

For your Diaries:

  • 19th May - Diocesan Cross Country - Barraba
