Prep Unit of Inquiry – Adapting to Change
This term, our Prep students have been investigating how living things adapt to change, with a special focus on different types of weather and their impact on the world around us.
On our excursion to Scienceworks, students explored the Think Ahead exhibition, where interactive experiences encouraged them to imagine what the future could look like as humans adapt to change. A highlight of the day was the Planetarium, where students relaxed under the dome and learned about Mars, the Milky Way, and the ways First Nations People have long understood and connected with the constellations in the night sky.
Back in the classroom, students have produced vibrant artwork of the planets in our solar system and have begun designing their own “futuristic jackets”, a creative response that adapts to extreme weather conditions.
It has been a wonderful journey of curiosity, creativity and scientific thinking, and we are so proud of their learning.
