This week in Year 6, students have been busy consolidating their learning across a range of contexts and applying their skills with increasing confidence.
Reading
In Reading, students have been exploring how writers communicate deeper themes and ideas. They are becoming more skilled at combining evidence from the text with their own understanding to form thoughtful conclusions.
Writing
Our writers have been thriving as they draft their fictional historical recounts. Many students are now deep in the revising and editing stage, working hard to enhance their stories with sensory details, vivid and emotive vocabulary, and other powerful language devices. It has been wonderful to see the creativity and enthusiasm they bring to their narratives.

Numeracy
In Numeracy, Year 6 began the week by consolidating their knowledge of angles—specifically recognising the difference between complementary and supplementary angles. Later in the week, students shifted their focus to multiplicative and division strategies. A highlight was the exciting Multiplication Escape Room, where students combined their mathematical thinking with teamwork and collaboration to “break out” successfully.

Graduation Countdown
With only two weeks to go until Graduation, excitement is certainly building! Classes have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to ensure the evening is truly magical. Each and every student is committed to making this milestone event memorable for families, friends, and the whole school community.
