Wominjeka Everybody!
Grade Prep and Grade One students have been exploring abstract art. As young artists, it can be quite complex to experiment with marks on paper without the intention of creating a picture of something. Using Jackson Pollock and John Olsen as inspiration, these little artists created the masterpieces you see below. Preps used warm colours and a piece of string. The Grade Ones dipped leaves, sticks and native grass fronds in the primary colours. It was a little messy, a lot of fun….and no one ended up being an abstract painting themselves! :
