As we reach the final weeks of Term 4, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our students, staff, and families for an incredible year of learning, growth, and community. It has been a privilege to work alongside you throughout 2026, and I am proud of everything our students have achieved.
This final newsletter for the year includes some important updates and helpful support for the upcoming break.
A notice was recently sent home outlining NDIS-funded support for next year. We are collecting information from families who wish to continue NDIS services in 2026 to assist with planning therapy schedules, staffing, and support spaces.

For some students, school holidays can be challenging. The break may mean losing the predictability, connection, and routine that support emotional wellbeing. Here are some ways families can help:
1. Talk About the Holidays Early
Discuss what to expect and explore feelings using Circle Time approaches. Validate mixed emotions — excitement and uncertainty can coexist.
2. Keep Predictability Alive
Help children create a simple schedule including:
Predictability reduces anxiety and supports regulation.
3. Stay Connected
Encourage connections with safe and familiar people — family, neighbours, or community friends. Connection builds emotional safety.
4. Introduce Mindfulness
Teach simple strategies such as breathing exercises, grounding, or body scans. These tools help children find calm when overwhelmed.
Thank You for a Wonderful 2026. I want to sincerely thank our students, staff, and families for your partnership, trust, and support.
It has been an honour to work with you throughout 2025. I wish all families a safe, restful, and joyful holiday break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2026.
Warm regards,
Bianca Gavin and Racheal Zappia
