Landcare Planting Day

Landcare Planting Day at Lancefield Park with Deep Creek Landcare Group, Lancefield Park Committee, Lancefield Primary School, and St Mary's Primary School Junior Landcare Group. 

On the 31/10/2025 a fantastic group of Landcare volunteers, teachers, students, and Lancefield Park Committee volunteers gathered together to continue the biodiversity and pollinator planting along the south-eastern edge of Lancefield Park. This is the third year the group has gathered to celebrate Planet Ark's Schools Tree Day by strengthening habitat links in an important area of public space in Lancefield. The weather was challenging but the students from both schools were fantastic and soldiered on, and with the support of the Deep Creek Landcare Group, we planted, tree-guarded and mulched 113 indigenous shrubs and grasses in 1.5 hours. Special thanks to Hughie Parks from the Lancefield Park Committee for moving mulch around before the planting day to make the workload easier!

The planting was made possible through funding from Planet Ark's 2025 Seedling Bank funding, and Greater Western Water's 2025 Trees for Schools program.
