Year 6

As we come to the end of an exciting year, we want to congratulate our wonderful Year 6 students on everything they have achieved in 2025. This year has been filled with learning, leadership, creativity and growth, and we are incredibly proud of the way students have worked together and supported one another.
From engaging class projects and rich reading and writing units, to hands-on maths investigations and our special Year 6 events, students have consistently demonstrated responsibility, perseverance and maturity. A highlight of the year was the Year 6 Market, where students showcased teamwork, problem-solving and entrepreneurial thinking while raising funds for a meaningful cause.
This term, students also demonstrated effort and curiosity through their home learning projects on the Industrial Revolution. Their presentations reflected increasing confidence in research, communication and independent learning—important skills as they prepare for secondary school.
As our Year 6s prepare to graduate and begin the next part of their learning journey, we want to thank families for your support throughout the year. It has truly been a privilege to teach this cohort, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at our upcoming graduation ceremony.
We wish all students and their families a safe, restful and joyful holiday break. Congratulations Year 6—your future is bright!
Our wonderful Year 6 students have written some lovely reflections for the end of the year.

This year in 6J has been my best year yet. I will always remember the fun excursions I went on with my friends, especially Funfields. I loved hanging out with Zach, Ella, Hunter and Lawson on all the rides at Funfields. I will remember my friends from primary school and I will miss them and my past teachers. I am looking forward to making new friends and learning new subjects at my new school.

My favourite memory this year was Funfields because I had so much fun with my friends. Jack and I went on heaps of rides, and it was really funny when Lachy almost fell off the Supernova. I will miss Jack from primary school because he always made me feel welcome and he always made me laugh. We once had a 20 minute chat when I was supposed to do a 1 minute reading. I am excited for high school because I cannot wait to wear my new school uniform and meet up with my mates from other schools.

During my primary school years, I will always remember the teachers who supported me. One teacher I will always think of is Jaclyn. She made me feel like I belonged in our Year 6 class, that I could talk to her about anything, and that I would always be supported. She was an amazing and thoughtful teacher. One memory that will always stick with me is the Year 6 fun day at Funfields. I enjoyed the massive water slides, especially the Gravity Drop with its huge plunge. My friends screaming on the way down was a spectacular memory. I will miss my friends when I move on to high school. I know I will keep some and I will always remember the others. I have made amazing friendships and each one came with hundreds of memories I will keep forever.

One of my favourite events in primary school was interschool netball. I loved it because we all tried our hardest, stayed focused and worked together as a team. My all time favourite memory was going to Funfields with my class. I loved catching up with Sophie. We went on rides together, talked, laughed and had so much fun. Even though we hang out at school, we do not often get that much time together. Our mums are even organising a sleepover for us in a few weeks. My favourite staff member at Lancefield Primary School is Jack because he is kind, funny and pushes us to reach our potential. All the teachers are amazing, but for me Jack has been the best teacher I have ever had.

Primary school has been a highlight of my life. I will miss my friends, knowing I might not stay close with all of them. I will miss the rough, childish play and all their weird personality traits. It is sad to leave, but it is also an exciting new start. Jaclyn was the best teacher ever. She made me feel welcome and let me be myself. Thank you to all the ES staff for always being there to help. I am looking forward to new classes, new learning and a fresh experience. Thank you to my friends, family, teachers and the other students who have been there for me throughout primary school.
Hunter
My favourite thing this year was the Year 6 Market. I loved preparing and making everything, especially setting up after school and selling the leftovers to the parents. I am looking forward to joining the D and D club in high school because I love how creative it is. I think it will be a great way to make new friendships and get to know new people. I am definitely going to miss all of my friends from primary school. Some will come with me to the same high school, but I will still miss everyone in my class.
Lawson
For me, the best and biggest event this year was Funfields. I think Funfields was the most fun thing we did because all the rides and slides were amazing. My favourite ride was the pirate ship and my favourite slide was the Gravity Wave, which I did with Zach, Ella and Darcy. Thank you to all the staff at school for helping me this year. You were always there for me and always kind. In high school I am looking forward to lots of things, especially the electives because they seem fun and different from what we do now.

My favourite event in primary school was School Footy. I loved helping the team and playing with my mates. Another favourite memory was Funfields. I loved going on the Typhoon by myself and yelling on the drop. I also loved going on the Blackout with Arty and singing in the slide to make it funnier. Two things I am looking forward to in high school are seeing Luke, one of my best friends, and doing epic science experiments in chemistry and science. Something I will miss from primary school is my best friend, Lukas. He is such an awesome, funny and kind friend to hang out with and play with.
Lukas
What I am looking forward to in high school is the different subjects and moving from class to class. The classes are only 75 minutes which is good too. My favourite memory was PE. I will miss it because in high school it is more about studying the human body. The event I will never forget is the colour run, especially with my buddies and getting covered in colours.
Liv
I will miss all the memories I made with my classmates this year. Everyone was kind and polite towards each other. Thank you to Celeste for always being on yard duty when I had no one to play with. She always looked a bit bored but always listened to me talk about the most random things. In high school I am looking forward to making new friends. My friends this year were the highlight of my year. One of my favourite events this year was the Year 6 Market. It felt amazing when students and teachers came to buy our products and when we found out how much money we raised. Another memory I will always remember is buddies. The funny things they said and the way they told us they loved us and would miss us meant so much. Funfields was also a big highlight. I had a great time going down the massive slides with my friends and hearing all the screams and laughter. In high school I am excited for new subjects, new people and new learning. These new skills will help me later in life and help me get a good job. I will miss many of the friends I made and the memories from Lancefield Primary School. Leaving will be sad, but it is the start of a new chapter. I will never forget this school.

My favourite memory this year was visiting Parliament House because it was fun and we learnt a lot. I also enjoyed going to the Melbourne Museum because it was so interesting. Travis was one of the teachers who helped me improve the most. He also helped me grow my confidence. Thank you. In high school I am looking forward to new subjects and meeting new people along the way.
