What is happening in the Library Services Faculty

The introduction of Beanstack Reading App to the Years 7 and 8 Library/English classes has proven to be a great success so far this year. Beanstack is engaging, easy to use and helps to develop a regular reading habit for our students.

Students are able to log their daily reading minutes on the App, and this gives us both a class and individual tally at the end of each week. As you can see by the photo below, the competition is very popular and changing daily! Well done Year 7 and 8 students!

Parents, we strongly encourage you to check in on your child’s progress and we hope you will be pleasantly surprised!

Libguides Article

Our students have been making great use of our library online research guides, called ‘LibGuides’, to help them with their assessment tasks and support their learning. These guides are available 24/7 on our Library website, which you can link to via ‘School Links’ in the Parent Access Module (PAM). The guides are widely used across our English, Humanities and Science subject areas and we frequently add more to the list.

Annual Grade 5 Transition Visits

The Pamela Coyne Library has had the pleasure once again of welcoming Year 5 students from our feeder primary schools.

The students took part in a very popular Harry Potter Quiz and we are sure left us feeling excited about the prospect of joining our college in the not too distant future!
