Seven EVP athletes recently represented Queensland at the Australian Youth Indoor Volleyball Championships, with every single athlete medalling - a testament to the exceptional talent and dedication within our program.
Jackson C and Liam C claimed gold playing for the U14 Boys Maroon. Amelia O secured bronze with the U15 Girls Maroon team, while Nicoletta K earned silver with the U15 Girls White team. Fletcher B captured gold with the U15 Boys Maroon team, and Jack S added bronze with the U15 Boys White team. Juliet C dominated with the U16 Girls Maroon team, taking home gold.
Beyond these outstanding competitive results, what truly stood out was the professionalism and resilience these athletes demonstrated throughout the championships. They navigated injury, defeat, wins, and adversity with grace and maturity, embodying Elite Character at the highest level. Feedback from the Queensland volleyball community reinforced the exceptional reputation our athletes have built - representing not just with skill, but with integrity and sportsmanship.
We are preparing for the Junior Schools Cup with unprecedented numbers - a record nine teams will represent The Gap State High School. This growth demonstrates the strength and depth of our program across all junior year levels.
Adding to the significance of this event, our senior students will be attending as coaches, providing mentorship and support to our junior athletes. This cross-year level leadership exemplifies the genuine legacy being built within the EVP, where experienced athletes actively invest in the development of the next generation. This commitment to giving back reinforces our program's culture and ensures the continuation of excellence.
Our students from Year 9 and above have been putting in dedicated work at the start of their final term, ensuring they stay on track with their development. With the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup (AVSC) on the horizon, these athletes are demonstrating the commitment and focus required to compete at the national championships. Their preparation reflects the high-performance standards that define our program and sets the stage for what promises to be an exciting conclusion to the EVPs 2025 competitive season.
Thank you!
