Our Year 11 and 12 AFL students had the opportunity to play in a local gala day this week and represented themselves and the school in an extraordinary manner.
They played 2 games against some strong opposition. Sandgate District State High School and Kelvin Grove State College. The team did go down in both games however showed great character and determination.
Well done to the team.

Our soccer teams continue to gain valuable match experience against strong school opposition. Games continue for all of our teams up until week 10 of term.
We will share these results in the upcoming newsletter.
Best wishes to our teams competing in the Vicki Wilson Championship on 9 June at Downey Park Netball Association.
Students have been preparing well and are looking forward to the opportunity to compete against schools from across the region.
Thank you to staff, coaches, and players for their preparation leading into the event.
The Mountain Biking Team competed in the Rocky Trail Academy event at Mt Cotton on 15 May, finishing an impressive 2nd overall as a school.
This event tests a broad range of mountain biking skills, including endurance, technical riding, pacing, and race strategy. Riders compete for grade-based category podium positions for girls and boys in Junior (Years 7 and 8), Intermediate (Years 9 and 10), and Senior (Years 11 and 12) divisions.
Racers also earn points for their school, competing for the Champion School title.
Places were as follows:
| Student | Result | Category / Note |
| Lucas A | 1st Place | Junior Boys, Years 7 & 8. Fastest time of the entire day across all age groups. |
| Lauren G | 2nd Place | Intermediate Girls, Years 9 & 10 |
| Oliver J | 2nd Place | Senior Boys, Year 11 & 12 |
This was a fantastic result for the program and reflects the strong culture and commitment developing within our MTB team.
As a team, The Gap SHS was placed in 2nd position out of the 62 competing schools. A fantastic achievement. We are looking forward to our next event where we head to Toowoomba on the 05/06/26.
