The students had many funny ideas and the classes voted for one meme in their class which was entered into the competition.

Now we just have to cross our fingers (Daumen drücken) that one of our classes scores a place for a great prize!

TAFE Queensland Visit

TAFE Queensland Visits The Gap SHS to Guide International Students on Study Pathways

On 18 May, The Gap State High School was pleased to welcome representatives from TAFE Queensland for an informative session tailored to our international students.

The presentation provided a valuable overview of the diverse opportunities available through TAFE, one of Queensland’s leading providers of vocational education and training.

During the session, students learned about the wide range of courses offered across industries such as business, hospitality, health, information technology, engineering, and more.

The TAFE representatives also walked students through the application process, entry requirements, and important deadlines, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared for their future academic and career pathways in Australia.

Students had the opportunity to ask questions and explore how TAFE pathways can lead to employment, further study at university, or skilled migration.

We thank TAFE Queensland for supporting our international students with this informative and empowering session, and we look forward to future collaborations.

Movie Day and Cultural Experience

Our International Students enjoy a movie day and cultural experience.

Recently, our international students came together for a fun and relaxing movie day, where they had the opportunity to watch a popular Australian film and mingle with students from different year levels and backgrounds.

The event provided students with a valuable chance to strengthen friendships, practise their English in a social setting, and learn more about Australian culture. Through the movie, students were exposed to everyday language, humour, and common Australian slang and expressions, helping them build greater confidence in understanding authentic spoken English.

Activities such as these play an important role in supporting our international students’ wellbeing, language development, and sense of belonging within the school community.
