Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

CHILD SAFETY

Coming off the Open School and school tours where we frequently pass onto prospective parents our commitment to follow up any reported incidents of bullying, both those that happen on campus and those that are online. We share that bullying happens at all schools, but we are committed to following up any student issues and concerns we are made aware of. We encourage all Parents, Guardians and Carers to be talking to their children and if there are issues or incidents of bullying or anything  is happening at school or online that is difficult for your child or impacting their learning or wellbeing, please do not hesitate to contact us at the college so as we can follow it up. It is our desire that everyone feels welcome, known and understood at Nazareth and where there are issues, please let us know so as we can support.

LOCKERS

Every student in the school has an allocated locker for their books, bag and any personal items (like their phone) to be locked in during the school day. We are aware that there seems to be a significant number of students who are choosing not to have a lock on their lockers. The College strongly encourages all students to have a lock on their lockers. Staff spend a significant amount following students up when property goes missing. Locking items safely in student lockers during the day is helpful for all.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY

A big focus this year for our community is helping students to take more responsibility for their learning. We are very pleased to see very positive data in the junior school for student completion of homework and organisation with diary entries. As we continue to work together we encourage families to be having conversation with your child regarding their work output and organisation and to be talking with teachers at the Student Progress Meetings to try and assist all students to grow.

GRATITUDE

As a community we want to express our gratitude for the families who work with staff in partnership and support the work we are doing. This is for the best outcomes for your child and enriches our community.

God Bless
