PROJECT COMPASSION - WEEK 3
Nazareth’s Goal is to reach $2000 - Third Week of Lent
Every dollar raised by our school community in support of Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion this Lent will help empower people across the world to build stronger, more resilient futures for themselves and their families. People just like Monoranjon.
Monoranjon lives in a coastal village in southwest Bangladesh, one of the regions most affected by climate change. He and his family face extreme heat, cyclones and water scarcities, which often destroy his crops and threaten his livelihood.
Things began to change when Monoranjon joined the Community Managed Sustainable Livelihoods and Resilience Program, run by Caritas Bangladesh with support from Caritas Australia. Through the program, he learnt climate-resilient farming techniques, including organic vegetable cultivation and livestock vaccination, enabling him to grow salt-tolerant vegetables and raise livestock.
Today, Monoranjon’s income has improved, allowing him to send his children to school and protect their futures from poverty. He also now teaches others in his village, inspiring further change and opportunity across the community.
Watch Monoranjon’s story HERE to learn more about how our school is changing lives around the world - ensuring that people have the tools they need to face poverty, climate change and disaster.

EASTER RAFFLE
Thank you to all of the wonderful Year 7 students and their parents who have donated to help us prepare our Easter Hampers. We are still seeking donations, so it is not too late!
The Vinnies have started preparing the hampers, and tickets will go on sale next week.
Tickets will be 1 ticket for $1 or
5 tickets for $3.
The hampers will be drawn on the last day of term.
All proceeds go towards supporting the Homework Club, which operates at St Anthony’s Primary School in Noble Park every Tuesday after school. This is run by the St Vincent De Paul Society, which we have been supporting for the past 9 years.
The funds enable them to purchase books, pencils, and other stationery items as needed, as well as an end-of-year excursion.
We are fortunate to have a group of dedicated students from Nazareth who travel by school bus each week to help work with the Primary students with their homework. I would particularly like to highlight both Ruan Pasuleti (Year 12) and Gordon Langley (Year 10), who have been volunteering every week for the past few years. Absolute superstars!
Any new volunteers are always welcome, and I thank Cherine Kunfunda, Rissa Meng, Stanley Riches, and Tayah Doan for volunteering this term as well.
