SRT Update

The Student Representative Team (SRT) has welcomed a range of new members across all year levels this new school year. The team has been meeting regularly to assist in a number of the school's events to kick off 2026. It was great to see FHS and Collingwood College come together for our combined Swimming Day and represent their houses. To celebrate Harmony Day, our school leaders assisted in the planning and running of a range of activities for the whole school celebration on March 17th. It was great to hear so many amazing stories of how our students and their families came to live in Melbourne and have the opportunity to celebrate the many rich cultures that make up our school.
Last week, a group of 10 Year 10 students had the unique opportunity to meet two Federal MP’s and discuss the issues that matter most to them. The Minister for Veteran Affairs, Matt Keogh and Federal MP for Wills, Peter Khalil kindly spared an hour to visit FHS and field questions from our Year 10s. We thank them both for their warm and engaging chat that really left an impression on the Year 10s who were lucky enough to attend.
Lastly, on Saturday March 21st Fitzroy High held our school Open Day. I would like to thank all of the students who volunteered to help out with school tours, working at the coffee stand and market stall, as well as all of the students and their families who visited throughout the day. The success of our Open Day would not have been possible without the tireless effort of the school council and the wonderful parents who gave up their time to help out. Thank you!
