Year 7 Camp

By Charlee, Tiva, Asher and Cat
To kick off high school the year sevens went to Camp Burnside in Anglesea. This was the first time Fitzroy High School had attended Burnside, and it was a success!
There were activities such as archery, surfing (which was a common favorite), rock climbing and the amazing games hall where the camp trivia night was held! And the cabins where students liked to spend some of their free time were very welcoming and snug.
The transition back to school went extremely smoothly hopefully making it easier for teachers who (along with the help of Jamie, Indigo and Alya) took care of a group of fifty rambunctious year sevens who were mainly powered by sugar (just kidding - or was I bam bam baaaaaaaaa!)
The experience was fantastic, the teachers and staff were so nice and the food was okay. One of my highlights was spending time bonding with new friends and having fun in activities like rock climbing. So if you're randomly wanting to book a school camp then I recommend Camp Burnside!
Camp was INCREDIBLE. I can't believe I hadn't been there earlier. It was so much fun and I didn't have to see my siblings (just kidding I love them)!!! The staff were amazing, the activities were soooooo fun and if we ever go there again I will be so excited. Sorry you might feel like I'm just filling space but it was soooooooooooooooooo much fun!!!
Camp was beautiful, the location was gorgeous (and so was Jerry the pink moth). When we went on the evening walk I couldn't get over the scenic view. It was absolutely breathtaking. It was great that all my friends were in my cabin. We all brought some snacks and ate them. We read some books and danced and also sorta slept. In my opinion the food was ok but the chicken schnitzel was disappointing. One of the best things was Jerry the moth. Anyway, I give it 3.5 stars on Trip advisor. Needs less mozzies and more aeroguard.
