YEAR 12 HOLIDAY STUDY SESSIONS
Thank you to all of the staff who will be running study sessions over the holiday break for the students in Year 12. These study sessions are designed to help students prepare for the upcoming HSC Examinations which begin on Wednesday 11th October. A timetable of these Holiday Study Sessions has been provided to assist students and parents with planning personal revision schedules. Students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to refine their skills and knowledge.
It is important that we have a record of all staff and students that are on site each day during the holidays in case of an emergency. Students and staff are asked to sign in and sign out using the QR code that will be provided in the study session.
YEAR 12 HSC EXAMS:
- HSC exams begin Tuesday 13 October. Not all exams start at the same time.
- CHECK THE START TIME OF EACH EXAM as they vary.
- We suggest students have two printed copies at home, with a support person checking every day.
- Students can view their personalised timetable in Students Online
- You can also download a PDF version of the timetable (PDF 199.01KB),
- Be at school 30 minutes before the first English examination on Tuesday 13 October.
- Check what you need for each exam on the Exam equipment list which clearly lists the equipment that can and cannot be taken into the exam room. Students must be present for all of their HSC examinations. If they are sick or something prevents them from attending, a parent or the student must contact the college immediately. There are no rescheduled exams. Students are to wear full school summer uniforms for their HSC Exams. Sport uniforms may be worn on Thursdays.
Best wishes to our Year 12 students for their upcoming HSC exams.
Year 11 starting HSC courses
- Year 11 students have now completed their exam block and will shift to their Year 12 HSC courses on their return in Term 4.
- HSC Assessment Schedules will be shared with students and parents early next term - they are currently being developed to align with the new regulation of only ONE take-home assessment task per subject, and this must be no more than 15% of the total assessment plan for that subject.
- The Ancient History students had a great time visiting the Chau Chak Wing Museum recently to get a jump start on some ancient artefacts that they will study for the HSC Course. We wish all the girls well as they begin this new (and last) chapter of their schooling.
Year 10 exams Term 4 Week 2-3
- Semester 2 exams are on Thursday and Friday Week 2 & Monday Week 3 of Term 4.
- Here is the schedule of exams.
- If students are absent, they must complete the Illness/Misadventure form on Compass. Please note that documentation to support the absence is required (eg a Doctor’s Certificate if you are unwell).
Students in Year 7-9 continue to complete Common Tasks in Term 4 to demonstrate their learning. Many are commended for their progress and growth, while others could benefit from a renewed and dedicated focus in Term 4. All students are encouraged to return in Term 4 with an intentional focus to undertake their Term 4 assessment. This includes strong use of class time, seeking and incorporating teacher feedback, revising lesson content, and completing all homework and class tasks to the best of their ability.
