From the Acting Principal Leader

Celebrating and Farewelling the Class of 2026
What a significant and memorable week it has been as we have celebrated, farewelled and given thanks for the Class of 2026.
The week began with our Year 12 Breakfast, followed by our Farewell Assembly and the girls’ final walk-out from the College. There was something particularly special about seeing our graduating students leave the gates of Caroline Chisholm College for the final time as students. This year, for the first time, we invited parents and carers to join us for this special moment, and it was wonderful to see so many families gathered to receive and welcome their daughters as they walked out from the gates. It was a beautiful addition to this important tradition, and one that we look forward to continuing in the years ahead.
We then gathered for our Graduation Mass, giving us the opportunity to pause amidst the busyness of the week and place this significant transition in the hands of God. Our Graduation Awards Evening provided a further opportunity to celebrate the achievements, growth and contributions of our graduating students, recognising the many ways in which they have enriched our College community.
These occasions have been filled with celebration and pride, but also with a sense of poignancy as we acknowledge that a significant chapter in the lives of these young women has come to an end. There is always something bittersweet about farewelling a cohort who have been such an important part of our College community. We celebrate all that they have accomplished, while knowing that the rhythms of everyday College life will feel a little different without them.
It was especially meaningful to have our Principal Leader, Mrs Tania Cairns, present for these celebrations. Tania has walked alongside this group of young women throughout their years at Caroline Chisholm College, and her presence at their final celebrations was a wonderful reminder of the relationships, encouragement and shared experiences that have shaped their journey.
As we farewell our Year 12 students, we are reminded of the words from the Book of Jeremiah: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
These words offer a fitting message as our graduates step beyond the familiar and into what comes next. Their future will bring new opportunities, challenges, relationships and experiences. We hope they carry with them not only the knowledge and skills they have gained, but also the values of faith, courage, tolerance, dignity, compassion and justice that have been part of their formation at Caroline Chisholm College.
To our Year 12 students, thank you for the contribution you have made to our College. Thank you for your laughter, your friendship, your leadership, your resilience and the many ways you have contributed to the life of our sisterhood. As you leave us, remember that you will always be part of the Caroline Chisholm story. In the words of our College Captain, Olivia’s final speech: once a Chisholm Girl, always a Chisholm girl.
To our Year 12 parents and carers, thank you for entrusting your daughters to us and for partnering with the College throughout their secondary education. This week has also been a celebration of you, the people who have supported, encouraged, challenged and loved these young women throughout their journey.
As we close Term 3, I wish all members of our College community a safe, restful and enjoyable break. May the holidays provide an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with family and friends, and enjoy some well-earned time together.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4, refreshed and ready for the final chapter of the 2026 school year.
May God bless our Year 12 graduates as they begin their next chapter, and may He continue to guide and strengthen our entire Caroline Chisholm College community.
Congratulations to our Year 12 Award recipients for 2026
