Wishing Our Community a Safe and Blessed School Holiday

As we come to the end of another busy and rewarding term, we give thanks for the many moments of learning, growth, service and connection shared across our school community.

We wish all our students, staff and families a safe, restful and blessed school holiday. May this be a time to slow down, reconnect with those we love and make space for rest and renewal.

Jesus reminds us:

“Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves
and rest a while.”
Mark 6:31

These words invite us to recognise that rest is important. The holidays provide an opportunity to step away from the busyness of everyday life and be mindful of God’s presence in the ordinary moments around us.

Mindful Moments for the Holidays

During the break, we encourage our students and families to make time for simple activities that nurture wellbeing, gratitude and connection:

Take a mindful walk – notice the sounds, sights and beauty of creation around you.

Spend time outdoors – pause and appreciate the gift of creation, giving thanks to God for something you notice.

Practise gratitude – each day, name three things you are thankful for.

Put technology aside – create some screen-free time to read, talk, play a game or simply be present with family.

Make time for prayer – begin or end the day with a few quiet moments of prayer and reflection.

Connect with others – share a meal, visit a family member or spend meaningful time with someone who may be feeling lonely.

Do something creative – draw, paint, write, cook, garden or create something simply for the joy of doing it.

Perform an act of kindness – look for a small way to serve someone without expecting anything in return.

As a Faith in Action community, may we remember that faith can be lived in the small, everyday choices we make through kindness, gratitude, service, compassion and the way we care for one another and our common home.

May the holidays be a time of rest for the mind, renewal for the heart and reconnection with God, family and community.

We pray that God blesses all our students, staff and families with peace, joy, safety and renewal throughout the holidays.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back next term, refreshed and ready for the opportunities ahead.
