WEEK 10 | TERM 1

STUDENTS OF THE WEEK

In Grade 4 this fortnight we have been working really hard on our current unit of procedure texts. Students have been exposed to writing both recipes and routines, gaining familiarity with the specific words we need to use to build structure and detail. Students are continuing to demonstrate their confidence in following the procedure writing checklist by including time connectives, adverbs and verbs.

In Numeracy, we finished our temperature unit and have started our new unit on statistics. We have covered different types of graphs, and how we can survey a group of people effectively. Students have enjoyed surveying and collecting data about their peers by asking them a question of their choice. They have put this data into a tally and then turned it into a bar graph.

In Wellbeing and Inquiry, we have been focusing on building relationships and how our emotions affect others. Students have been practicing social skills and interactions within groups, ensuring they are talking respectfully, taking turns, sharing and listening to each other when expressing ideas and opinions.
